In August 1920, 105 years ago, the 19th amendment of the U.S. Constitution was ratified by Congress. Finally white women were allowed to vote. Black women and men were not allowed to vote until 1965. Indigenous Native American women and men were not allowed to vote until 1965. White male English-speaking immigrants had already been voting for 145 and 190 years respectively.
Please protect voting rights for everyone by voting “no” on Question 1 at the polls on Nov. 4.
All people, especially the elderly, people with disabilities and those with transportation issues need access to voting by absentee ballot.
Above all, exercise your privilege/right to vote on Nov 4.
