Two things we need to think about:
First, with all the gerrymandering going on to try to control voting in the states, it may be the time for states to consider placing “disbanding the Electoral College” on a special ballot proposing a new amendment to the Constitution. Gerrymandering would cease to make a difference in presidential elections. Elections would only depend on each individual’s vote regardless of your location throughout the country.
Second, I wish that more citizens would register as independents instead of with a party and look at their electoral candidate’s personality, qualifications for the position and their past history before choosing who to represent them at the local and national level. I am an independent and have voted in the past for candidates from both parties.
