Meghan Markle was unbothered by the mixed reviews With Love, Meghan received when the show first hit Netflix earlier this year.
“I think I knew who I was trying to meet,” Meghan, 44, said during an interview with Bloomberg’s The Circuit. “So if you know your audience, you know your demographic well, they love the show and my partners love the show, and that’s why we have a season 2 and why we have more fun coming.”
Meghan went on to address some of the “negative voices” directly.
“Are they saying negative things and then secretly going home and making single-skillet spaghetti? Possibly — and that’s all right,” she added. “They’re trying to pay their bills, and that’s for them to sort out if they’re comfortable doing it at someone else’s detriment.”
Meghan noted that her “intention” for the show was to “share more of myself, to share tips that I love in my life and to have fun.”

After With Love, Meghan season 1 premiered in March, several critics slammed the series, with some referring to the Duchess of Sussex as “boring” and others mocking her love for flower sprinkles.
While format of the second season — which premiered on Tuesday, August 26 — was the same, Meghan did seem more relaxed and fun while hosting some major guests in her satellite kitchen.
While the show films at a Montecito, California house close to where she and Prince Harry live, season 2 offered a surprise look into her and Harry’s real-life home. Well, the backyard at least.
Harry made a brief appearance in the first season, but was absent for the second. However, Meghan did offer a bit more insight into her personal life for season 2. Most notably, the former Suits star gushed over her kids, Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 4.

“I always wanted to be a mom,” she said during the second episode of season 2. “I would save my allowance and I’d go to Kmart and buy a real diaper bag.”
Meghan gushed that real-life motherhood is “better than I even expected.” She even shared some sweet anecdotes about her kids, revealing that they say zebra the British way — like their dad — and was at her most relatable when she revealed that her “moving meditation” after a freak out from her kids was a glass of wine.
Things stayed the same from the first to second season in terms of the guests. Meghan kept things true to her cooking roots with celebrity chefs but also brought on Tan France and Chrissy Teigen for some star power.
During her same Bloomberg interview, Meghan explained that whether it’s her show or a new As Ever product, she’s never nervous about launch day.
“[I’m] very zen because it’s done,” she shared. “I think I sort of approach that with anything that I pour my heart into and create: you’ve done everything you can and then you have to let it go.”
