A man has been charged with murder after the death of a pensioner in southeast London.
Vasile Iosebica, 47, was arrested after police were called to an address in Wellmeadow Road, Lewisham, at about 1am on Sunday, 24 August, following reports of a death at the property.
An 87-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
His next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by specially-trained officers, according to police.
A post-mortem examination held on Monday gave the cause of death as compression of the neck.
The Metropolitan Police say the man and Iosebica were known to each other.
Iosebica, of Wellmeadow Road, will appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
