The Oxford 250, renowned as the biggest short-track race in the country, delivered high-octane excitement with plenty of action on the track.
The race saw multiple spin-outs, including a dramatic moment with car number 00, and three caution flags in the final 20 laps.
In a nail-biting finish, Austin Teras, driving car No. 29, managed to hold off second-place finisher Eddie MacDonald by less than a second. Teras celebrated his victory by spinning out with the checkered flag, sending smoke billowing across the track.
Teras, a 22-year-old from Gray, led 125 of the 250 laps, securing a prize of $37,500, a large trophy and unforgettable memories.
Reflecting on his win, Teras said, “I’m not sure I have quite the words. It means everything to me really. But other than it means the world, not sure I have the right words for that.”
This year’s race marked the 52nd running of the Oxford 250.
