TikTok stars Matt and Abby Howard are about to be a family of five.

The couple announced Abby’s pregnancy on Wednesday, August 20, telling People, “Going for our third baby is almost more exciting than ever because now we truly know just how good it is.”

Matt, 27, and Abby, 26, noted that they “genuinely have no preference” when it comes to the baby’s sex, but their eldest child is “really hoping for a sister!” (The content creators share sons Griffin, 3, and August, 2.)

While reflecting on her current pregnancy, Abby noted that this experience has stood out.

“This pregnancy has felt different from my other two,” she shared. “Lots of days I have to remind myself that I’m even pregnant and that this is really happening!”

Matt and Abby have been together since high school and got married in 2019. They have since used their online platform to document highlights from their life. Despite their career as influencers, the duo recently made the decision to stop showing their sons’ faces online.

“Initially, we did have our firstborn’s face online because we were like, ‘We’re going to continue doing everything we’ve been doing. We’ve been vlogging our life, we have a kid now [and] we’re still vlogging our life,’” Matt said on a July episode of the “Two Parents & A” podcast. “Then, we were thinking, ‘OK, there’s digital footprints here,’ and all these things that we’re still learning.”

Abby said the decision came out of an “abundance of protection,” with Matt adding, “It’s crazy because we are truly in the wild west. Someone’s going to [f***] up there. There already have been parents [who] have effed up online, and, like, hurt their kids. So, we’re learning, like, ‘Don’t do that, Good.’ We don’t want to be one of those people that accidentally [post our children]. We want the best for our kids.”

At the time, Matt and Abby broke down the boundaries they put in place as parents on social media.

“We talk about them, we share them — just not their faces,” Abby explained. “We don’t want them to be a central part of our content or to be recognizable individually. Who knows what it will look like down the line. … We view protecting our kids very seriously.”

She continued: “It might be an overreaction, who knows down the line, but we’d rather be safe than sorry. I think the other thing is that we chose for our lives to be public-facing [and] we want to give [our sons] the autonomy to make that choice for themselves if they want to down the line.”

Before limiting their kids’ online presence, Matt and Abby made headlines in September 2024 when they shared an Instagram Story that alluded to their sons being left in their room on a cruise ship while their parents were out at dinner.

“We take our role as parents extremely seriously and we love our children more than anything in the entire world. We’re very protective of our kids,” Matt later shared in a TikTok video. “People started to speculate and believe that we had left our children alone in their staterooms — and that is just completely untrue.”

Matt added: “We had someone with our children at all times on this boat. Period.”
