Amid all the hype and lead-up to Survivor 50, it’s easy to forget that we have a whole new season of Survivor to enjoy first.
Survivor 49 will premiere in September, when fans will meet the 18 new castaways ready to outwit, outplay and outlast each other for the title of “sole survivor” and the $1 million grand prize that goes along with it.
This cast, which CBS announced on Wednesday, August 20, appears to skew a little older than average, with players ranging from a 25-year-old tech salesman to a 52-year-old airport ramp agent. CBS touts the group as “a fresh set of dynamic and determined competitors,” reminding viewers that two Survivor 49 castaways will return for next year’s alumni season, Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans.
Host Jeff Probst announced 22 of the 24 Survivor 50 cast members in May, with the two Survivor 49 players set to be revealed at a later date.
Survivor 49 will premiere on Wednesday, September 24, at 8 p.m. ET with a two-hour opening episode, before the series shifts to its usual 90-minute time slot the following week. All episodes will air on CBS and stream on Paramount+.
