One opportunistic baseball fan seemingly put his company’s work from home policy to good use during a busy day of action at Wrigley Field.

A young man was spotted with his laptop and computer mouse in the iconic stadium’s bleachers during the Chicago Cubs’ doubleheader with the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday, August 19.

The diligent employee was spotlighted during Marquee Sports Network’s broadcast of the game, awarding him the honor of the Mike’s Hard Lemonade Fan of the Game.

“How badly do you want it?” Cubs’ play-by-play announcer Jon Sciambi narrated a video of the fan. “Did you bring your mouse? You better bring your mouse.”

Sciambi, 55, then raised the “one question” he had about the fan and his laptop.

“Is this guy doing work?” he pondered. “My other thought is that he’s going over [his] fantasy football draft.”

Jim Deshaies, the Cubs color analyst, said, “He could be working, you know?”

“This is the make-up game, right?” Deshaies, 65, added.

Indeed, the afternoon game at Wrigley Field was the first game of a doubleheader, the result of the second half of Monday, August 18’s scheduled doubleheader getting rained out.

The Cubs swept both games of the doubleheader on Tuesday, winning the afternoon tilt 6-4 and the evening game 4-1.

The Major League Baseball social accounts also had fun with the Cubs fan on Tuesday, sharing a video of him working in the bleachers with the caption: “I hope this email finds you well.”

“How the email finds me,” the next line of the caption read, referencing the video.

Baseball fans flooded the comments with tips of the hat to the man for his multitasking abilities.

“Have to applaud the effort if he is working from the game,” one wrote.

Another said, “Rather be emailing at Wrigley than not be there.”

However, some called out MLB for blowing up the fan’s spot.

“Delete this please,” one said. “As long as he gets the work done his location doesn’t need to be shared. Delete this.”

Another wrote, “This guy is definitely getting fired now. Hope you offer him a job.”

Questions of professional ethics aside, one person questioned how the fan was able to set up his work station in the first place.

“I can’t carry anything into a stadium bigger than a postcard in a clear bag,” the fan wrote. “How did this guy smuggle his laptop in?”

The Cubs and Brewers return to Wrigley Field for the third game of their five-game series at 8:05 ET on Wednesday, August 20.
