A Virgin Atlantic cabin crew member was removed from a plane after crashing her car and turning up for work four times over the alcohol limit, a court has heard.
Kathryn Scott, 44, smashed her Hyundai into a roundabout but left it at the scene and was driven to Heathrow by a member of the public.
Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court was told she was taken off the aircraft after the crash was reported to police.
Scott denied a single charge of performing an aviation function when over the alcohol limit – and the court heard she blamed the crash on a steering problem with the car.
The flight attendant said she had drunk two glasses of wine eight hours before the flight, on 12 June.
Magistrates were also told she has a liver condition that means she may not break down alcohol in a normal way.

Tests showed Scott had 91 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood in her system. The limit for flight attendants in the UK is 20 milligrams.
Scott, from Ottershaw in Surrey, was released on bail until a trial on 11 December.
