Kseniya Alexandrova, who was the first runner-up at the Miss Russia 2017 pageant and represented Russia at Miss Universe 2017, has died. She was 30.

Alexandrova was involved in a car accident in Tver Oblast, Russia, in July, Hola! reported via RG. She was in the passenger seat while her husband, Ilya, was driving. An elk ran into the road and crashed through the windshield, causing Alexandrova to sustain a head injury. Her husband reportedly was not injured.

Alexandrova was hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the Sklifosovsky Institute for Emergency Medicine, where she died on Tuesday, August 12.

Alexandrova’s modeling agency, Modus Vivendis, which she began working with at 19 years old, confirmed her death via a statement on social media.

She knew how to inspire, support and give warmth to everyone around her. For us she will forever remain a symbol of beauty, kindness and inner strength.”

The statement continued, “We sincerely mourn and express our deepest condolences to her family, friends and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Ksenia. A bright memory…”

The Miss Universe Organization also shared a tribute to Alexandrova via Instagram, posting a compilation of the model’s pageant footage as she spoke about her hopes for the world.

“But I want all the people around the world to believe in themselves and to always have a dream,” Alexandrova said. “We should be strong and believe in ourselves and never give up on our dreams. In this world everything is possible and nothing is impossible.”

The caption read, “The Miss Universe Organization extends its deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and everyone whose life was touched by the light of Miss Universe Russia 2017, Kseniya Alexandrova. Her grace, beauty, and spirit left an unforgettable mark on the Miss Universe family and beyond. May her memory continue to inspire kindness, strength, and love in all those who were fortunate enough to know her. 🤍🕊.”

In addition to her modeling and beauty pageant work, Alexandrova was a television host and psychologist. In 2016, she graduated from Plekhanov Russian University of Economics with a degree in finance and credit. She later completed her studies at the High School of Cinema and Television “Ostankino” in 2020. Additionally, in 2022, Alexandrova graduated from Moscow Pedagogical State University with a degree in psychology, going on to become a psychodrama therapist.

Alexandrova’s death came just four months after she and her husband tied the knot on March 22. She shared photos from the special day via Instagram in April.

“I remember every second and it seems that I am still experiencing the whirlwind of emotions :),” the post, translated from Russian, read. “There was so much love, joy and sincere feelings on this day that the heart is still full of them. Thanks to everyone who was with us – it’s priceless! 🙏🏻.”
