Tracker is going through multiple cast changes ahead of season 3 but Chris Lee‘s Randy appears to have a promising future on Justin Hartley‘s hit CBS series.

The show, which premiered in February 2024, is centered around a survivalist named Colter (Justin Hartley) who travels the country helping to solve a variety of mysteries. Based on Jeffery Deaver’s novel The Never Game, Tracker follows Colter week to week as he works on cases with help from Teddi (Robin Weigert), Velma (Abby McEnany), technology genius Bobby (Eric Graise) and attorney Reenie (Fiona Rene).

Tracker lost Weigert before season 2 and Graise and McEnany one year later. Lee, for his part, joined the show as Randy and quickly won over viewers.

Before Tracker, Lee appeared on Empire, S.W.A.T, Scream, Legacies and The Chi.

Has Chris Lee Explored Other Acting Avenues?

Lee might look familiar after playing Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson in the Chicago production of Hamilton.

“I learned at Belmont that auditioning is 60 to 75 percent of the job. Getting a job is not contingent on how good you are,” Lee told students during a visit to Belmont University in 2019. “You just might not be right for that part. Don’t be afraid to be fearless in being you. Show who you are.”

He continued: “You’re an artist. The most important thing is your art. Are you doing what you say you want to do every single day? If not, I don’t believe you want to do that thing for the rest of your life.”

What Has Chris Lee Shared About His Life Off Screen?

Lee got married to his wife Gabby in May 2022. They share three children together.

Justin Hartley’s Rare Comments About ‘Tracker’ Losing Multiple Cast Members

When Did Chris Lee Join Justin Hartley’s ‘Tracker’?

During season 2, Graise was noticeably absent from six episodes as Bobby. His cousin Randy (Lee) was brought in to help Colter before Bobby returned, which caused backlash from viewers who grew used to seeing Graise on their screen.

Rene told TV Insider in March 2025 that she was thrilled to have Lee on set, adding, “I mean, can we just talk about Randy for a second? I love Chris Lee with everything in my body. He’s been such a wonderful addition to the Bobby dynamic, and I am very excited to see them together.”

Before news broke in July 2025 about Graise and McEnany exiting the show, executive producer Elwood Reid addressed Lee’s future as Randy.

“Randy came in and also gave something to the show that was different. There was a real warmth and fun when he came in,” Reid exclusively told Us Weekly. “It was something that I think we were missing a little bit too in some episodes. He just was immediately fun when he came in.”

Reid confirmed viewers haven’t seen the last of Randy, adding, “With those dynamics — and in playing with this team dynamics — that’s all stuff we’re going to continue to play with in season 3 as the show evolves.”

He continued: “We’re going to bring back some characters from seasons 1 and 2 — we’re going to see them more and more. There’s been some fun characters that I think are fun to see in Colter’s world [season to season].”
