PORTLAND – Spinnaker Trust is pleased to welcome Tim Kaijala, CAIA, FDP, CSRIC™ as vice president, deputy chief investment officer.

Kaijala brings more than a decade of experience in investment research and portfolio management, with a specialization in private markets. Prior to joining Spinnaker, he served as director of private markets and a portfolio manager at H.M. Payson, where he oversaw investment due diligence and led several cross-functional innovation initiatives. Prior to his time at H.M. Payson,  Kaijala was director of investment research at O’Brien Wealth Partners, and a portfolio manager at Ropes Wealth Advisors. He began his investment career in research-focused roles at BrightSphere Investment Group and Fidelity Investments.

At Spinnaker,  Kaijala will support the firm’s investment strategy and due diligence processes, focusing on both public and private investments. He will also work closely with the firm’s client advisors and client service teams to align portfolio construction with client goals and serve as a member of Spinnaker’s Investment Committee.

Kaijala holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. from the Yale School of Management. He is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst, Financial Data Professional, and a Chartered SRI Counselor.  Kaijala lives in Cumberland with his wife and children. A former collegiate and semi-professional middle-distance runner,  Kaijala remains active and enjoys running, hiking, cross-country skiing and exploring Maine.
