The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office allegedly seized more than a kilogram of illegal drugs, including methamphetamine and fentanyl, along with guns and cash, after searching two homes in Charleston.
Deputies used a search warrant at a residence on Boston Road, and based on information from that search got a warrant to search another residence on Puddledock Road, the sheriff’s office said Wednesday in a post on Facebook.
During the second search on Puddledock Road, a police dog detected illegal drugs and deputies seized 1003.8 grams of methamphetamine, six guns, cash, and 12.9 grams of suspected fentanyl, the sheriff’s office said.
As a result of the investigation, police arrested Jessica Smock, 43, and Lou-Ann Smock, 66, both of Charleston.
Jessica Smock was charged with aggravated unlawful trafficking of Schedule W drugs, a Class A felony; and possession of firearms by a prohibited person, a Class C felony.
Lou-Ann Smock was charged with aggravated unlawful trafficking of Schedule W drugs, a Class A felony; and unlawful trafficking of Schedule W drugs, a Class B felony.
When the searches and arrests happened was not immediately clear, as the sheriff’s office listed a date in the future.
