A second man accused of shooting at a Glenburn home this weekend made his first court appearance.
George Overlock, 36, of Carmel, appeared in court Wednesday after he allegedly shot at a Glenburn home and fled from police. He was arrested Sunday and hospitalized for a couple days for an unrelated medical issue.
He is charged with aggravated drug trafficking, a Class A felony; possession of firearm by a prohibited person, a class B felony; aggravated criminal mischief, a Class C felony; aggravated operating after initial offender revocation, a Class C felony; criminal trespass, a Class D misdemeanor; refusal to submit to arrest, a Class D misdemeanor; driving to endanger, a Class E misdemeanor; and violating conditions of release, a Class E misdemeanor.
Overlock did not enter a plea, which is standard in felony cases. His case will be presented to a grand jury that will decide whether or not to indict him.
Three men allegedly shot guns at a Danforth Drive home and a car outside of it on Sunday afternoon in Glenburn, according to the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office.
After Overlock’s arrest, multiple shell casings were found in his hospital bed and fentanyl was found in a bag and pickup truck he was allegedly driving, according to a police report.
Another man, Raphael Cupidon, 22, of Massachusetts, was charged in Penobscot County court Monday with one felony count of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs, which is a Class A felony, and two misdemeanor counts of refusing to submit to arrest.
Overlock was granted a $50,000 cash bail, which he had not posted at time of publication and he was held in the Penobscot County Jail.
Cupidon was granted a $10,000 bail which he has since posted, according to jail records.
