Several people wearing masks shot up a woman’s car and home in Glenburn on Sunday afternoon.
The woman called 911 about 3:10 p.m. to report that several people wearing masks were shooting guns, causing significant damage to her car and Danforth Drive home, according to the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office.
No one inside the home was hurt.
Deputies found the fleeing suspects on Union Street in Hermon, where the suspects then tried to flee from police, leading them onto Davis Road in Bangor and then Finson Road.
On Finson Road, the vehicle slowed down, and two suspects jumped out and fled on foot while the vehicle headed back to Glenburn, the sheriff’s office said late Sunday night.
Deputies continued following the getaway vehicle, which the suspect abandoned and then tried to hide in a nearby home. When deputies entered the home and tried to arrest the suspect, they resisted arrest, according to the sheriff’s office.
Police dogs managed to track one of the two suspects who fled on foot through woods off Finson Road. The suspect was found hiding under a mobile home.
As of Sunday night, just two suspects are in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
“Although the nature of the incident was dangerous, and the matter remains active, there is no immediate threat to the safety of the public,” the sheriff’s office said.
