A Richmond man allegedly stashed a loaded handgun outside the Waterfront Concerts venue in Bangor.
John Roinestad, 45, was charged with reckless conduct and refusal to submit to arrest, according to Sgt. Jason McAmbley, a spokesperson for the Bangor Police Department.
A security officer at the venue on Wednesday night overheard Roinestad’s companion say that he couldn’t take something inside. The officer then watched Roinestad allegedly stash something in a crevice in the outside wall, McAmbley said Thursday.
After Roinestad went inside the venue, the officer approached the crevice and found a loaded handgun and called police.
Police found Roinestad inside the venue, questioned and then arrested him, according to McAmbley. During his arrest, Roinestad allegedly struggled with officers.
The gun was seized.
