Scheana Shay shut down trolls who accused her of selling out her family by publicly revealing that her husband, Brock Davies, cheated on her.
During the Tuesday, July 22, episode of Heather McDonald‘s “Juicy Scoop” podcast, Shay, 40, weighed in on the criticism she faced for including details about Davies’ infidelity in her My Good Side memoir.
“For everyone saying I’m so desperate to get on The Valley and I’m trying to sell a book and use my family and all of that, I just want to remind them that I’ve been a part of this show since before it actually existed,” the Vanderpump Rules alum noted. “And I would never sell my family out to sell an actual book.”
Shay stood by her decision to publicly address the most challenging parts of her marriage.

“I’m telling my truth because it’s my story and there’s no way I could put out a memoir and not tell my full story,” she continued. “If there’s anything missing from the book, it’s not anything that’s a skeleton in my closet because all of those are out.”
Shay concluded: “And maybe I could have gone into some more detail on some stuff. But this is literally all of me. And it’s kind of scary.”
My Good Side, which is out now, revealed that Davies, 34, cheated on Shay when she was pregnant with their daughter, Summer, now 4. While speaking with Us Weekly for her cover story earlier this month, Shay elaborated on whether Davies supported her decision to air out their issues.
“I went back and forth. It started as absolutely not. It was an eight-month conversation [with Brock],” she revealed. “After several therapy sessions and really talking about it, we decided that this book would be inauthentic if we didn’t put it all in.”
Shay and Davies were “both” divided on how much to reveal.

“But I’d rather it come out in my words because, unfortunately, there was another person involved in this situation, and at any point in time, she could come forward,” she continued. “Had there been no kid or, honestly, had I found out when he did it … 100 percent, without a doubt, I would have left. I’ve always been a person who said, ‘If I’m ever cheated on, I would leave.’”
The couple has continued to make an effort to heal their relationship.
“It takes work every single day. I will forever have insecurities. Just the other day, I saw him swipe and delete a text, and I’m like, ‘What was that?’ And he’s like, ‘Seriously, Scheana?’” she told Us. “But I genuinely believe he would never do anything like that again. I do trust him. I have forgiven him.”
She added: “We’ve put in the work in couples therapy. We have a very open line of communication. I want to show people that if you truly love someone, a mistake from their past doesn’t have to define the future of your relationship.”
