A Glenburn man died Wednesday after his dump truck collided with a tractor-trailer in Stetson.
Scott Webber, 64, was driving a dump truck east on Merrill Road about 1:09 p.m. when a tractor-trailer driven by 39-year-old Peter Omweno of Denton, Texas, failed to stop at the intersection with Lapoint Road and hit Webber, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Webber’s dump truck, which was fully loaded, overturned onto its passenger side, while the tractor-trailer then struck a utility pole, which snapped and fell atop it, Moss said Thursday morning.
Omweno was taken to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, where he was treated for serious injuries. Webber died on the way to the hospital, according to Moss.
