The Caribou Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run that occurred Monday night in front of the fire station, the department said in a release Tuesday.
The department said two pedestrians were walking east on High Street around 11 p.m. when a vehicle they described as a black SUV came from behind and struck one of them.
The victim, a 31-year-old man, was transported to Cary Medical Center with injuries that are not considered life-threatening to his left leg and ankle.
Police believe the vehicle left the scene headed east before turning onto Bennett Drive. The investigating officer is Kevin St. Peter. The department is asking those with information to call the station at 207-493-3301.
