Denise Richards and her family are far from camera shy.
The actress first offered fans insight into her life when appearing on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for two seasons from 2019 to 2020. Five years later, in 2025, she peeled back the curtain once again via her own Bravo reality series, Denis Richards & Her Wild Things.
Instead of drama with other women, season 1 of Wild Things focused on her immediate family, including then-husband Aaron Phypers and Denise’s daughters Sami Sheen, Lola Sheen and Eloise Richards. (Phypers filed for divorce in July 2025, four months after the reality show premiered.)
“After Housewives, [producer] Alex Baskin approached me and asked if I would want to do a family reality show,” Denise told Us Weekly exclusively in February 2025. “Obviously, I wanted the girls to really want to do it and I think it’s also a great time for them. They’ve always lived, basically, in the shadows of their parents where they’re the daughters of, and it’s a nice time for them to be able to be themselves and shine.”

While the girls had differing views about starring in a reality show — Sami was immediately on board, while Lola had her reservations — they both agreed to appear. Denise told Us that she really wanted the series to showcase her family for who and how they are.
“I wanted us to just live our life,” she continued. “One of the biggest things I wanted the girls to do is to just be their true, authentic self. I don’t want anything inauthentic. … I think that there’s a lot of things that a lot of people can relate to.”

Joni and Irv Richards
Denise’s parents, Joni and Irv Richards, raised her in Illinois. Her mother died in November 2007 following a cancer battle.
Michelle Richards
Michelle is Denise’s sole younger sister. In 2015, Denise posted via Instagram that Michelle, along with her family, moved to Montana.

Charlie Sheen

Eloise Richards
Denise adopted Eloise after her May 2011 birth. Eloise has a rare chromosomal disorder — Chromosome 8, Monosomy 8p — in which she has speech and development delays. In 2019, Denise spoke about Phypers going through the process to formally adopt Eloise. According to his divorce filing obtained by Us in July 2025, Phypers and Denise don’t share any children, seemingly confirming he never legally adopted Eloise.
Aaron Phypers
Phypers and Denise were first spotted out together in September 2017. They tied the knot in September 2018, with a source telling Us that Phypers had proposed in January of that year.
Us confirmed in July 2025 that Phypers filed for divorce after six years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split. He listed the date of separation as July 4. Later that month, Richards requested a restraining order against Phypers, claiming that he had been physically abusive throughout the course of their marriage. (He did not immediately address the accusations.)
