Anna Camp expressed her frustration after not receiving a 2025 Emmy nomination for her performance in Netflix’s You.

Camp, 42, took to Instagram following the nominations announcement on Tuesday, July 15, to reflect on her time playing identical twins Raegan and Maddie Lockwood.

“Me reading about the nominations this morning knowing I gave one of the best performances of my life while also trying to be happy for everyone and while also remembering I vowed to stop drinking during the week 🫠,” she captioned the post, which included a screenshot from You of her character reading from her phone with a confused look on her face.

The actress subsequently shared an Instagram Story showing the outpouring of love she received in response.

‘You’ Series Finale Ending Explained: Did Joe Die? Who Returned?

“You were 🔥🔥🔥🔥… snubs are for scrubs. I’ll down one for you 🥂,” read one of the comments, while another person wrote, “I would get sh@tfaced if I wasn’t nominated for this performance ❤.”

Camp’s girlfriend, Jade Whipkey, also weighed in on the snub, writing, “BLOWN AWAY🌹. not many people ever get the chance to play twins and NO ONE has ever done it like you did. Take notes Hollywood ✍!!!”

You, which premiered in 2018, has never received an Emmy throughout its runs on both Lifetime and Netflix. This year’s Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama category features nominations for Paradise’s Julianne Nicholson, The Pitt’s Katherine LaNasa, Severance’s Patricia Arquette and The White Lotus costars Aimee Lou Wood, Carrie Coon, Natasha Rothwell and Parker Posey.

Camp’s candid commentary on the Emmy nominations comes three months after Netflix aired the final season of You. The series finale wrapped up fictional serial killer Joe’s (Penn Badgley) reign of terror when he was finally arrested — and shot in the penis by his newest obsession: Bronte (Madeline Brewer).

A voiceover revealed that the internet made memes comparing Joe to a Ken Doll. Joe, meanwhile, got locked up for his crimes, but the support for him didn’t stop as he ended the series reading fan mail and wondering whether viewers — like Us — were the real problem.

During exclusive interviews with Us Weekly, multiple cast members reacted to Joe’s demise and discussed whether he got what he deserved.

Charlotte Ritchie, who played Kate, supported Joe ending up behind bars, saying, “I don’t believe in the death penalty and I don’t believe he should just die. Sometimes I wonder if there’s a missing part when he doesn’t reflect because — and it’s a shame that he never gets an inward moment of reflection — but that seems appropriate for him. It doesn’t feel like he’s capable of that.”

Ritchie, 35, pointed out that Joe still didn’t take any responsibility for his actions.

Which Former ‘You’ Stars Made Surprise Cameos in the Show’s Final Season?

“Where we leave him, he’s just not even vaguely capable of looking at the blame anywhere else except for somewhere else,” she noted before weighing in on Joe’s brutal injury. “I was like, ‘That’s full on.’ I guess symbolically it’s very important. But there is something about his brain that is the scariest part of him in the way we see him. He’s really violent in this series where he shows brutality and physical violence that’s very specific in this show. But broadly his threat is his mind and his ability to talk to people.”

She continued: “In a way it’s symbolic, but it’s like he still retains the part of himself that is manipulative and controls people. He sorts out his heart and his head. Whatever happens to his penis is neither here nor there.”

Elizabeth Lail, who played Joe’s first victim, Beck, was glad Joe got what was coming to him.

“Obviously, I want to believe in the justice system — particularly in this day and age. I believe in justice and due process, so I like to think that that is the best outcome,” Lail, 33, told Us. “He’s been redeemed, but it doesn’t mean at times I [don’t think that they should just] kill him [on the show].”

You is currently streaming on Netflix.
