For many Christians, this Sunday’s Gospel reading is the Parable of the Good Samaritan. Love your neighbor! Show mercy!
I hope those Christians who believe that by supporting President Donald Trump’s policies they are following Jesus will reconsider.
The parable of the good Samaritan is found in the Gospel of Luke, chapter 10, verses 25-37. To get a sense of what the people who first heard Jesus tell his story might have felt, try substituting “Palestinian” for “Samaritan” in verse 33. Imagine … a good Palestinian!
