Tom Arnold broke his silence after a judge dismissed domestic violence accusations against the FUBAR actor.
“After more than a year of legal proceedings, I am relieved to share that the court has dismissed all claims against me relating to a domestic violence restraining order that was filed post-separation,” Arnold, 66, exclusively told Us Weekly in a statement on Thursday, July 10. “The initial request was denied, and after a prolonged trial process, the judge found no merit in the accusations and deemed them inaccurate and unsubstantiated.”
He continued, “Despite multiple failed attempts to discredit me, the truth has finally prevailed. This experience has taken a significant toll on my health and well-being, but most importantly, it has been a difficult time for our children. I am grateful for the support of those who stood by me during this difficult time.”
Us understands that Arnold spent millions of dollars trying to defend himself and his parental rights amid his divorce from Ashley Groussman. The ongoing stress even led Arnold to develop mental health struggles and led to other health issues, including a minor stroke, organ and heart failure.

Us confirmed in February 2019 that Arnold filed for divorce from Groussman after 10 years of marriage. (Arnold and Grossman are parents of son Jax, now 12, and daughter Quinn, now 9.)
“It’s a long time coming, and we have been together for almost 11 years. And very grateful. I have many good years. I have my children because of my wife,” Arnold said in a statement at the time. “She has one life and she gets to live it exactly the way … the same thing with everybody. And I think it’s hard. Sometimes in our society, people put things on. Especially women, they can feel guilty. … And I kept saying, ‘Hey, listen. … You have done everything. We’ve been together. You’ve been amazing. There doesn’t have to be a reason. There doesn’t have to be a bad guy.’”
Amid their divorce battle, Groussman filed for a restraining order against Arnold in 2019, 2020 and 2024, respectively, accusing him of domestic violence. She claimed that Arnold harassed her, stalked her and disturbed her peace. Arnold vehemently denied the allegations each time, seeking that her restraining order request be denied.
In court documents obtained by Us in July, a judge recently ruled to dismiss Groussman’s request after not finding a “credible” amount of evidence to support the allegations.

“This case represents an example of post-separation legal abuse — an attempt to misuse the legal system as a means of continued harassment,” Arnold added in his Thursday statement to Us. “I hope that by speaking out, it helps to shed light on how the legal system can be weaponized.”
Arnold was previously married three times: to Rosanne Barr from 1990 to 1994, to Julie Armstrong from 1995 to 1999 and to Shelby Roos from 2002 to 2008.
