After some cloudy days Thursday and Friday, it looks like Mainers will be treated to a warm and sunny weekend.
A chance of thunderstorms is possible throughout the northeastern regions of Aroostook County throughout the rest of the day Thursday, but severe storms are not expected at this time, according to the National Weather Service Caribou office.
Looking ahead, clouds will persist through most of the state Friday, with temperatures in the mid to low 80s inland and high 70s along the Down East coast. The inland southwest regions will see temperatures in the high 70s, while midcoast and the western Maine mountain regions will see highs in the low 70s on Friday, the Gray NWS office expects.
Getting into the weekend, skies will be mostly sunny across the state with some clouds appearing throughout the day. Highs will reach the low 80s throughout inland regions, while coastal and western mountain regions will see highs in the mid 70s on Saturday.
The forecast looks much the same heading into Sunday, with mostly sunny skies across the state and temperatures in the high 70s and low 80s.
There is little worry of rain on Saturday and Sunday, but a storm system moving into the state is expected to bring scattered thunderstorms on Monday at this point in time.
Although relative temperatures will feel like the mid 70s, and mid 60s in some mountainous and coastal areas, it will still be crucial to wear and reapply sunscreen regularly, and drink plenty of water.
