Gia Giudice spoke out following the backlash about her “little video” asking President Donald Trump to pardon dad Joe Giudice.
“I did not intend to post it on the 4th of July. That was just not my intention at all,” Gia, 24, shared on the Wednesday, July 9, episode of her “Casual Chaos” podcast. “I have so much respect for my country, and I was not trying to show any privilege or entitlement.”
Gia explained that she “shipped those letters out” on July 3, hours before driving to the New Jersey shore for her 4th of July weekend.
“I was making the video for him on Thursday night, and I wrote out what I was going to say,” she explained. “So, Friday morning before the craziness of the weekend, I just finished the video, and I posted it. Then I realized, ‘Oh, my God.’ But at that point, the video had gotten a lot of traction.”

Gia clarified that the social media video was not a “strategic” move on her part.
“I woke up [and] knew I had to do something for my dad. That was the only thing on my mind, was my dad. So, I posted it, there was no motive behind anything,” she continued. “I really just wanted my dad to feel loved and feel loved by me and know that I always am supporting him and pushing for him and hoping for his return back home.”
Joe, 53, was convicted on 39 counts of fraud in 2014 alongside ex-wife Teresa Giudice. He served a 41-month prison sentence before being deported from the United States to his native Italy. Joe currently lives in the Bahamas. (Teresa, 53, served an 11-month sentence in prison.)
During Wednesday’s podcast, Gia explained that she didn’t want her dad to think she “forgot about the video” and had plans to “go about” her weekend at the Jersey Shore.
“I woke up in the morning and I posted the video. That was my first thought,” she said. “Then, after going downstairs, coming back upstairs, seeing the comments, I felt horrible.”

Gia said that Todd and Julie Chrisley’s recent presidential pardon has “really inspired” her family to fight for Joe’s return. The Chrisley Knows Best couple returned home in May after serving their respective prison sentences in their tax evasion case.
“I’ve also been working every single day this summer. My schedule has been crazy, and I am so grateful for that,” she added. “But whenever I have downtime to do videos and update you guys on my life, I just post it. And I really do apologize.”
Gia admitted that she “should have waited a day” before posting the video.
“I really just wanted to use my platform to bring awareness to my father’s case,” she concluded. “I do not think that I am privileged. I have immense respect for my country.”
