3 Underrated Peacock Movies to Watch This Weekend (July 4-6)

Peacock may not always have the top-tier movies, but it’s almost always got an eclectic mix of films.

That comes in handy if you want to find something off the beaten path.

Ahead of the long holiday, the Watch With Us team has selected the three underrated movies to watch this weekend.

Our picks this week include an unusual drama, a very effective horror film and one of the funniest movies that isn’t meant to be half as hilarious as it turned out to be.

What’s New on Peacock in July 2025

‘Before I Fall’ (2017)

Samantha Kingston (Zoey Deutch) dies very early in Before I Fall, so it comes as a surprise to her when she wakes up reliving the same day over and over again. Even when Sam manages to avoid her own death, the day keeps endlessly repeating. And if she’s stuck in a Groundhog Day-style time loop, then she’s going to go all the way.

But with so much time on her hands, Sam eventually realizes that the loop isn’t really about her at all. It’s a second chance to reevaluate the relationships in her life and try to save someone who has been emotionally abandoned by her friends and classmates.

Before I Fall is streaming on Peacock.

‘Daniel Isn’t Real’ (2019)

When Luke (Miles Robbins) was a child, he had an imaginary friend named Daniel (The White Lotus season 3’s Patrick Schwarzenegger). Despite the title of Daniel Isn’t Real, he was just the best pal a guy could have — until he tricked Luke into doing something evil. Years later, Luke is very self-conscious about his potential for mental illness. And that’s when Daniel reenters his life.

At first, Daniel’s return is a good thing for Luke. He always knows just what to say, and he’s a great wingman when it comes to picking up ladies. However, Daniel is becoming increasingly able to take control of Luke’s body. Suddenly, Luke has to contend with the possibility that he’s either going insane or there’s more to Daniel than he ever suspected.

Daniel Isn’t Real is streaming on Peacock.

‘Street Fighter’ (1994)

For a film that isn’t actually supposed to be a comedy, Street Fighter is full of some of the most hilarious bad acting you’ll ever see from Jean-Claude Van Damme. That’s not the only thing that makes this video game movie an unintentional comedic masterpiece. The late Raul Julia turned in an over-the-top performance as the film’s main villain, M. Bison, who has some genuinely funny lines.

The story is a narrative mess that somehow turns a game about a martial arts tournament into a G.I. Joe knock-off with Van Damme as Col. William F. Guile, the leader of a multi-national military task force attempting to depose Bison. Ming-Na Wen and Kylie Minogue have co-starring roles as Chun-Li Zang and Cammy White, and most of the game’s characters are represented. But ultimately, it comes down to Guile vs. Bison. This film is the textbook example of a movie that’s so bad it’s good, and we love it.

Street Fighter is streaming on Peacock.
