A man allegedly crashed a minivan into a Hollis home on Tuesday before fleeing.
Gary Norton, 43, has been charged with aggravated operating after habitual offender revocation, aggravated driving to endanger, aggravated criminal mischief and leaving the scene of a crash, according to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Norton was driving the tan 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan on Route 5, near Wakefield Road, about 11 a.m. when he left the road and hit the chimney of a house, Moss said Wednesday.
He allegedly fled after the crash, which caused substantial damage to the home, according to Moss.
Troopers tracked down Norton by following a trail of debris, finding him about 4.5 miles away on Deerwander Road.
He was being held at the York County Jail in Alfred.
