Jason Kelce just revealed his surprising connection to Brad Pitt’s brother.
During the Wednesday, July 2, episode of Jason, 37, and Travis Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast, the duo interviewed Pitt, 61, about his new movie, F1. As they were wrapping up, Jason shared his unexpected overlap with Brad’s brother, Doug Pitt.
“Say what’s up to Doug Pitt,” Jason said. “I don’t know if you know this, I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro with your brother.”
Brad noted that Doug, 58, already told him, adding, “He’s got two of you guys up there. He’s got Joe Buck up there and some other great [guy].”

While reflecting on the accomplishment, Jason called it “electric” and “a lot of fun.” Brad, however, was curious about Jason’s experience “coming down” the mountain.
“That was worse. It’s easily the worst part,” Jason admitted. “You get so excited. You reach the summit and you’re like, ‘I’m here, it’s over now.’ But now you have to go back down.”
Jason made the trek in 2019 in an effort to raise awareness about the clean water crisis in Tanzania. Brad’s brother, for his part, holds the title of Goodwill Ambassador for the United Republic of Tanzania. Two of Jason’s Philadelphia Eagles teammates — Haloti Ngata and Beau Allen — also joined the adventure.
Both of the Kelce brothers played college football for the Cincinnati Bearcats before Jason was selected by the Eagles during the 2011 draft. He helped the team defeat the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl in 2017.
Travis, 35, meanwhile, has been a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs since 2013. Travis led his team to three Super Bowl victories over the years. The siblings faced off against each other in the 2023 championship, with the Chiefs ultimately winning.

After 13 years playing center for the Eagles, Jason announced his retirement in March 2024.
“So, this all brings us here to today. Where I announce that I am retiring from the NFL after 13 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles,” Jason said in a speech at the time. “And today I must admit, I am officially overrated. Vastly overrated. It took a lot of hardwork and determination getting here. I have been the underdog my entire career, and I mean this when I say it, I wish I still was. Few things give me such joy as proving someone wrong.”
Jason previously spoke about his decision to retire on his own terms.
“It’s just something that I think when it’s time to officially announce what’s happening in the future, it’ll be done in a way that’s definitive and pays respect to a lot of people and individuals that have meant a lot to me and what has led to the career that I’ve had,” he said on “New Heights” in January 2024. “I don’t think that it would be respectful or even accurate to be able to do that right after a game like that. … In the future, there’ll be something said, I guess.”
