Todd Chrisley and college admissions scandal mastermind Rick Singer were in prison at the same time — but they didn’t get along.
Todd, 56, detailed his 28-month stay at FPC Pensacola during the Tuesday, July 1, episode of daughter Savannah Chrisley’s “Unlocked” podcast. The reality star revealed that he got into it with “the college admissions guy” while behind bars, never referring to Singer, 64, by name.
“He was talking smack, saying he didn’t wear a wire, he never told on anyone. The feds set him up. This, that and the other,” Todd claimed of Singer. “We know that whole deal, personally, because of Felicity [Huffman]. … We had watched it all, so we know what had happened.”
Singer allegedly made millions of dollars from parents to facilitate bribes with universities to ensure that their kids were accepted. In March 2019, he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit racketeering, money laundering and obstruction of justice charges. He was sentenced to 42 months in prison in January 2023 before being released to a halfway house in August 2024.

Todd called Singer “the biggest snitch in America” during Tuesday’s podcast episode, referring to his decision to become a cooperating witness in the federal trial and incriminating several celebrities — including Huffman and Lori Loughlin, who both spent time in prison for their involvement.
Initially, Todd told Singer that he “never” wanted to have a conversation with him. But months later, things escalated.
“He was talking s*** about Savannah, because that’s when she had already started, you know, pulling the Barbara Walters and exposing everything in the [Bureau of Prisons]. He started talking smack,” Todd claimed. “I just walked up to him, and I said, ‘I’m going to say this one more time.’”
Savannah interrupted her dad to tell listeners that Todd “was not this calm” while confronting Singer.
“I said, ‘I will rip your head off and s*** down your neck if you talk about my child again.’ And I meant what I said,” Todd confirmed. “You know I would have done that.”

He added, “I said, ‘I don’t need you to be afraid of me. Just be aware that if my daughter’s name comes out of your mouth again, I will rip your head off and s*** down your neck.’”
After that, Todd said he “literally never had another problem” with Singer.
“But that’s really the only issue that I had [in prison],” Todd concluded.
Todd and wife Julie Chrisley reported to prison in January 2023 for a combined 19-year sentence after being convicted on federal charges of tax evasion and fraud in 2022. President Donald Trump pardoned both Todd and Julie in May, and they were subsequently released from prison.
