Lucerne in Maine community is celebrating its 100-year anniversary. Lucerne is only one of two communities left in Maine that is a village within a town. We encompass 7,000 acres and 650 homes around Phillips Lake, part of Green Lake, and Goose Pond.
Started in 1925 within $3 million, Lucerne Country Community Club was formed which at the time was the largest development in the state with 120 original log cabins including Lucerne Inn, Log Lodge, which burned in April 1957, Lucerne Golf Course, Lucerne Beach Club all made up of well-to-dos from Philadelphia to Boston and New York.
On Tuesday, July 1 at 1 p.m. Lucerne Community will be unveiling a new wooden sculpture, designed and carved by Dr. Ed Harrow at the Dedham Town Office on Rte 1A, 2073 Maine Road, Dedham.
