Bangor’s Airport Mall, which opened in 1970, holds a special place in Maine’s history as the state’s first indoor shopping mall. Former home of Woolco, Radio Shack and Weight Watchers, it is also where we go to renew our drivers licenses and purchase tropical fish.
I would like to propose that we commemorate the mall by renaming the airport after it. It would become the Airport Mall Airport. We then might wish to rechristen the mall as the Airport Mall Airport Mall.
