A bicyclist was hospitalized on Friday after being struck by a vehicle on Route 1 on Friday morning.
The cyclist had been southbound near Southgate Road before being struck at around 4:05 a.m., the Scarborough Police Department said. The motorist left the scene of the collision.
The name of the cyclist is not being released at this time. They were transported to Maine Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
The Scarborough Police Department asks that anyone who may have witnessed the collision call 207-730-4329.
