BIDDEFORD, Maine — A cleanup effort is underway after a garbage truck driver was forced to dump burning trash onto a street in Biddeford.
Crews responded to a garbage truck fire on Pomerleau Street around 4:30 a.m. on Thursday.
The Biddeford Fire Department says the garbage truck driver dumped the load of burning garbage on the street, which is standard when a load of garbage catches fire.
The fire has been extinguished but the cleanup operation is going to take a while. The road is currently closed.
Officials are asking drivers to avoid Pomerleau Street.
