Pedro Pascal keeps his love life close to the vest, but that hasn’t stopped fans from wondering if — or who — he’s dating.
While rumors have swirled that he’s romanced a few stars throughout his career, nothing has ever been confirmed. When the topic came up in a January 2023 interview, Pascal compared the idea of love to his The Last of Us character, Joel Miller.
“I think what’s scary about Joel is that none of us really know what we’d be capable of if faced with the idea of losing love,” he told Wired at the time. “Whether it’s conscious or unconscious, being alive or even being a human being is directly connected to the love you feel.”

Pascal continued to muse about love during the same Wired interview.
“Existing is connected to the love you feel toward a particular relationship — your child, your partner — and to lose that?” he added. “Some people are not capable of applying rational thought to that kind of loss, or the threat of that loss, or the threat of that loss again, right?”
Pascal noted that both The Last of Us video game and show pose “such a beautiful question” about love.
“I avoid all of it by not having kids,” he stated. “And staying out of relationships.”

“I always feel perplexed when I’m identified in whatever form of media as a ‘highly private person,’ because that’s the opposite of me,” he admitted in a June 2025 Vanity Fair profile. “I’m very unprivate in my private life. I just know that personal relationships are such a complex thing to navigate even without having this enormous lens on them.”

In the same Vanity Fair interview, Pascal shared that he has thought about children in a very specific way.
“I’ve had dreams of taking my kids to the movies the way my parents took me,” he said. “So, I guess I want a shortcut to an interesting human being who is my child who will go see something that I want to see.”

The actor has not been in a public relationship throughout his time in Hollywood.
Pascal was romantically linked to Maria Dizzia in 2008 after they appeared in an episode of Law and Order together. She has since married playwright Will Eno.
Following his time on Game of Thrones — Pascal played Oberyn Martell in the show’s fourth season — fans speculated that he was romantically involved with Lena Headey after her divorce from Peter Loughran. Pascal once referred to Headey as “a good friend,” noting that “anyone who comes in contact with her develops an instant crush.” She married Marc Menchaca in 2022.
“She is that person [who is good in a crisis],” Pascal told Extra at the time, gushing over their friendship. “The best way that I could describe it is I remember, if you’re in a party setting and you make eye contact with Jen, she just knows exactly what’s going on with you and knows exactly how to make you feel.”

During a September 2017 interview with The Los Angeles Times, Pascal reacted to a Reddit group called “Gay For Oberyn,” which was full of straight men who loved his Game of Thrones character.
“It’s so wonderful. I think it’s all a spectrum, right? Straight men can have — do have — crushes on other men. It doesn’t make them gay, it doesn’t make them bi,” he said at the time. “I was super-flattered. The guys that picked on me in middle school in Corona del Mar probably have a crush on me now. Maybe they had a crush on me then and that’s why they picked on me.”
