Mainers will be able to get a lobster roll for $10.66 at all six Governor’s Restaurant and Bakery locations for one day next week.
The restaurant’s annual lobster roll day begins at 8 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, except for at the Presque Isle location, which opens at 10 a.m.
The discounted delicacy will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and you can only place online orders if you’re purchasing 10 or more and preorder before 11:59 p.m. Tuesday.
Customers can choose to dine in or take their lobster rolls to go. Governor’s will aim to minimize wait times with cash-only drive-thrus and walk-up kiosks at all six locations — Old Town, Bangor, Ellsworth, Waterville, Lewiston, and Presque Isle.
For Mainers looking to avoid long lines, the restaurant recommends stopping by before 11 a.m. or between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. — but beware, Governor’s expects to sell out by the end of the day, owner and CEO Jason Clay said. In years past, the restaurant has sold upwards of 20,000 rolls.
The Maine specialty tends to be pricey, with a lobster roll costing about $35 across the state last month. Governor’s typically prices its lobster rolls at $23.99, meaning that the annual special price is more than half off.
