R. Kelly was rushed to the hospital last week after suffering dizziness, inability to walk and unconsciousness while locked up in a Chicago prison, Us Weekly can confirm.

The entertainer’s lawyer Beau Brindley tells Us that the singer, 58, was given his medication by prison staff on the evening of June 12.

His lawyer alleged, “Late that night, he began to suffer dizziness, inability to walk, and unconsciousness. He was rushed to an outside hospital where it was determined that Mr. Kelly was given an overdose of his medication.”

Brindley said, “upon being examined at the hospital, Mr. Kelly reported swelling in his legs, which he believed to be attributable to blood clots as he has had blood clots before.”

He continued, “He was scanned for blood clots earlier this year and was told by the BOP that he no longer would be given blood thinners. But, the question of whether he had blood clots was left unanswered.”

Kelly’s lawyer tells Us that over the weekend, “while hospitalized, the doctors discovered blood clots in both legs and in Mr. Kelly’s lungs. Surgery was ordered with a seven-day hospital stay.”

His lawyer claimed, “Within an hour of the diagnosis, armed officers removed Mr. Kelly from the hospital. He was denied surgery that medical professionals deemed necessary.”

Brindley told Us, “If this is not the Bureau of Prisons engaging in conduct that will kill Mr. Kelly, I would ask government counsel to explain what it is.”

Kelly’s lawyer spoke out after prosecutors moved to deny the singer’s recent plea in court.

On Monday, June 16, federal prosecutors slammed the singer’s attempt to be released on home detention.

R. Kelly Asks United States Supreme Court to Overturn Child Pornography Conviction: Report

“Robert Kelly is a prolific child molester. He is unapologetic about it. Kelly has never taken responsibility for his years of sexually abusing children, and he probably never will,” prosecutors wrote in court documents filed on Monday, June 16, and obtained by Us.

The prosecutors scoffed at Kelly’s motion to be released “indefinitely under the guise of a fanciful conspiracy.” They accused him of making a mockery of the harm suffered by his victims.

They added, “And underscoring the deeply unserious and theatrical nature of Kelly’s request is that Kelly has not filed [this request in his New York case], where that court imposed a 30-year sentence of imprisonment upon Kelly.”

As Us previously reported, the incarcerated singer filed an emergency motion to be released from prison and to serve the remainder of his sentence at home.

Kelly was sentenced to 30 years in prison in a case filed in New York and another 20 years in a case out of Illinois.

In his bombshell motion, Kelly’s lawyer said the entertainer’s “life depends on the oversight of guards.”

“He has no choice in the matter. He puts his life in these people’s hands because that is what the courts have ordered him to do,” the lawyer added.

“Yet, explicit evidence has now emerged to show that the very officials charged with protecting incarcerated inmates have solicited [Kelly’s] murder,” the motion read.

In the filing, Kelly claimed that prison officials worked together to steal his private messages with his lawyers before his two federal trials.

He claimed they then “weaponized the information” contained in the messages to turn witnesses against him and gain an unfair advantage against him at trial.

His lawyer alleged, “The government has used stolen attorney/client correspondence to make a case against Mr. Kelly in violation of the Due Process Clause of the United States Constitution. When that information began to be exposed by Mr. Kelly’s attorneys, officials in the Bureau of Prisons solicited another inmate to kill him.”

Kelly’s team submitted a statement from an inmate named Mikeal Glenn Stine, who is terminally ill.

Stine claimed that officials said they would allow him to escape if he killed Kelly. He said they told him he would have to be charged for the crime, but the case would be dropped due to their messing with evidence.

Stine said he agreed to do it and was transferred to Kelly’s unit, according to the singer’s lawyer.

In his motion, Kelly’s lawyer wrote, “After arriving on the unit, Stine found Mr. Kelly. He followed him. He watched him. He considered how to carry out his murder. He was prepared to carry out the execution.”

He continued, “But, in the moment when Stine got near Mr. Kelly, he made a different choice. He told him the truth. Stine told Kelly that he was sent to kill him. He told him how and by who. He told Mr. Kelly that his life was absolutely in danger.”

In the new motion filed by prosecutors, they denied his claims that prison officials tried to have him killed.

Their lawyer told the court, “The government disputes the fantastic allegations in Kelly’s motion. Kelly is in prison because he is a serial child molester whose criminal abuse of children dates back to at least President Clinton’s first term in office — decades before Kelly was taken into federal custody.”

The prosecutors said Kelly’s issues should be addressed at the prison, not in federal court.

In response to the government, Kelly’s lawyer tells Us they “have evidence of a plot by the Bureau of Prisons to have Mr. Kelly killed. The government does not have any answer for what motive Mikeal Glenn Stine would have for admitting his involvement in a series of Bureau of Prisons directed attacks and murders over the course of years, leading to the solicitation of the murder of Mr. Kelly. They have no response because there is none. Mr. Stine is telling the truth.” Regarding the motion not being filed in Kelly’s New York case yet.

His lawyer noted, “We are in the process of filing our motion in New York as well. As we are not local in New York, that process can take a bit of time.”
