A motorcyclist was killed Sunday in a hit-and-run crash in Woodstock.
The 60-year-old Oxford man was riding at the head of a group of motorcycles on Route 232 about 7:50 p.m. when he tried to pass a gray GM pickup truck traveling in the right slow lane, according to the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office.
The pickup truck then abruptly moved into the motorcycle’s lane, hitting and sending it into the trees, the sheriff’s office said Sunday night.
The 60-year-old was gravely injured, and his passenger, a 50-year-old woman from Oxford, suffered significant injuries.
Both were taken to the hospital, where the man succumbed to his injuries.
The pickup truck was last seen heading south on Route 26.
Anyone with information about its whereabouts can call the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office at 207-743-9554.
