Taylor Swift earned a comparison to the greatest hockey player of all-time during her trip to the 2025 Stanley Cup Finals.
During a break in play in the first period of Game 4 between the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers on Thursday, June 12, TNT reporter Jackie Redmond gave notice to Swift, 35, and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, who were in attendance at Sunrise, Florida’s Amerant Bank Arena.
“Florida is one hell of a drug, just ask Taylor Swift, who wrote those lyrics in a song called ‘Florida’ and who, yes, is in the building,” said Redmond, 38, referencing Swift’s song “Florida!!!” featuring Florence Welch off her 2024 album, The Tortured Poets Department.
Redmond also used Swift’s discography in discussing the animosity between the Panthers and Oilers, saying the teams “have a lot of bad blood through four games of this Stanley Cup Final.”

Swift’s song “Bad Blood,” featuring Kendrick Lamar, was featured on her 2014 album, 1989.
“Taylor Swift, basically the Wayne Gretzky of music right now,” Redmond said. “She’s written over 250 songs, won 14 Grammys, she’s broken records by The Beatles. I could go on and on.”
TNT play-by-play announcer Kenny Albert got in on the fun once Redmond tossed the broadcast back to the booth.
“The Edmonton Oilers look to shake off their Game 3 loss in Game 4 here in Sunrise,” Albert, 57, said, referencing Swift’s 1989 song “Shake It Off.”
In addition to being compared to Gretzky — who has the most points in NHL history — Swift and Kelce were seen spending time with the NHL legend at the game.
The trio enjoyed a conversation in a suite during the game just weeks after Gretzky, 64, was a guest on Kelce’s podcast, “New Heights.”
Swift and Kelce, 35, packed on the PDA at the game, with the Kansas City Chiefs star seen wrapping his arms around his girlfriend and giving her a kiss in their suite.
The excitement of the game — which saw the Panthers tie the game with 19.5 seconds left before the Oilers eventually won in overtime — was almost too much for Swift to take.
After the Panthers’ Sam Reinhart scored the tying goal, Swift was caught on camera saying “my heart!” as she mimicked a fast heartbeat while sitting next to Kelce.

Swift and Kelce have made a home in Florida this summer as Kelce prepares for his 13th NFL season.
The superstar tight end rented a $20 million home in Boca Raton, where Swift has been a frequent guest.
“[Taylor] is trying to spend as much time with him as she can by going to Boca,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly. “They are doing stuff separately out of necessity because of his training, but when they find time to connect, it’s intentional and meaningful.”
The Stanley Cup Finals return to Edmonton for Game 5 on Saturday, June 14, before heading back to Florida for Game 6 on Tuesday, June 17.
