A Dixmont woman was arrested Monday for alleged breaking into a home and stealing a rifle.
Renee Cohen, 67, was charged with burglary and theft of a firearm, according to the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office. More charges are possible.
Cohen allegedly forced her way into a North Road home about 11:23 a.m. while the homeowner and her infant were inside and stole a hunting rifle.
In coordination with the Maine Warden Service and a tracking dog, deputies recovered the rifle in the woods between the victim’s property and the property where Cohen was found, the sheriff’s office said Wednesday.
Cohen was taken to Penobscot County Jail in Bangor.
