Boston Blue is rounding out its cast with another actor joining CBS’ upcoming Blue Bloods spinoff.
Marcus Scribner has been cast as a series regular in the role of Jonah Silver, according to Variety. The official description labels Jonah as “the youngest member of the Silver family and is in law enforcement like his mother and sisters — each of whom are formidable in their own ways.”
The synopsis continues: “Always the cool kid growing up, Jonah carries himself with confidence and swagger in all situations, so he’s naturally frustrated at being a rookie cop on the sidelines of the city’s biggest investigations.”
Scribner, 25, is rounding the fictional Silver family, which also includes Gloria Reuben as Jonah’s mother, Mae, Ernie Hudson as Jonah’s grandfather, Sonequa Martin-Green as Jonah’s sister and Maggie Lawson as his stepsister, Sarah.

CBS confirmed it was expanding the Blue Bloods universe after the series came to an end in December 2024. Blue Bloods, which premiered in 2010, followed the lives of the Reagan family, many of whom worked for the NYPD under the leadership of NYC police commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck). Frank and his father, Henry Reagan (Len Cariou), were central to the show alongside Frank’s children: daughter Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan) and sons Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) and Jamie Reagan (Will Estes).
Wahlberg’s character is at the center of the spinoff, which picks up as the former NYPD officer “takes on a position” with the Boston P.D. “Once in Boston, he is paired with detective Lena Peters, the eldest daughter of a prominent law enforcement family,” reads the official logline.
The actor, 55, has previously teased what he would like to see for Danny in this chapter of his career.

“I would say I would have Danny Reagan walk right into his next chapter of his life, maybe in a different place doing a similar job and perhaps with someone from the current cast,” he told Entertainment Weekly in December 2024. “But I want him to not be too far from the family so that he could still see them and spend time with them, but maybe to see what life has in store for him now that his boys have gone off and he’s empty nesting and his wife’s gone. Maybe he can see what the future holds for him on his own. As long as he can visit the family sometimes. Does that sound like a tease for a spinoff?”
No other Blue Bloods alums have been announced — yet. But several former stars have expressed interest in making appearances. Selleck discussed joining another project in the Blue Bloods universe, telling Parade in December 2024, “I’m open to suggestions, because I love Frank Reagan, but nobody’s really asked. I don’t see him retiring and going off somewhere.”
Vanessa Ray, meanwhile, teased to TV Insider in October 2024, “I would do anything with these people. So, yes, of course. I don’t know what world it would make sense for Eddie to be in a spinoff at all. But if they need to put me in a wig and dye my eyebrows and I’ll play a different character just so I get to hang out with all of them more, then I’ll do it.”
