The Freshies convenience store on Hammond Street in Bangor will be closed for the foreseeable future as it undergoes what a spokesperson described as “major renovations” in a Wednesday release.
The renovations began on June 1 and include upgrading the store’s deli services, opening a new beer cave, updating restrooms, expanding parking, and adding additional gas pumps and a diesel island. R.H Foster, which operates the 22 Freshies locations throughout the state, says there is no confirmed date for reopening.
“We are thrilled to be undertaking the challenge of renovating our Hammond Street location,” Katie Foster, R.H. Foster’s executive manager of operations, wrote in the release. “Our renovations will be focused on improving our customers’ experience and delivering a premium convenience store location to the community.”
The project is a part of a larger “store upgrade” initiative at store locations around the state, the company said.
