A man has been arrested in connection with a shooting in the Penobscot County town of Glenburn on Monday that left two people injured.
Penobscot County Sheriff Troy Morton announced the arrest of Brandon Harvey, 43, of Glenburn, late Tuesday evening, saying he was apprehended after “extensive search efforts” across multiple towns.
Police had previously named Harvey as a person of interest in the shooting on McCarty Road.
One victim of the shooting is hospitalized in serious condition, while another person sustained minor injuries and has since been treated and released, Sheriff Morton said in a statement.
Morton said police searched multiple towns for Harvey, including Glenburn, Kenduskeag, Bangor, Carmel, Newport and Bradley. “The search faced challenges due to a lack of cooperation from some individuals; however, many community members contributed valuable information that helped in the investigation.”
Ultimately, deputies found Harvey on Government Road in the town of Bradley where he “surrendered peacefully to deputies” and was brought to a hospital to minor injuries he got before he was apprehended, Morton said.
Morton did not say whether Harvey had been charged with a crime.
