It may surprise you to hear that General Hospital is currently on top of Hulu‘s list of the top movies and TV shows on the streamer. Clearly, soap opera fans are very into that show.
That’s not the only surprising project that has newfound popularity on Hulu. Some of those jumps may be attributed to upcoming films like 28 Years Later or Lindsay Lohan‘s big Hollywood comeback in Freakier Friday later this summer.
We also suspect that the recent season finale of a Fox drama may be behind its sudden climb in the ranks as well.

’28 Weeks Later’ (2007)
With the release of 28 Years Later coming to theaters later this month, Hulu subscribers are currently making the first sequel, 28 Weeks Later, one of the streamer’s top hits. Cillian Murphy did not reprise his role as Jim for this film, but Idris Elba and Jeremy Renner gave it some star power early in their respective careers.
General Stone (Elba) leads an American mission in the United Kingdom after the initial victims of the Rage virus perish. However, two children, Tammy (Imogen Poots) and Andy (Mackintosh Muggleton), accidentally set off a chain of events that lead to a new outbreak. Amidst the chaos, a Delta Force sniper named Doyle (Renner) defies orders by protecting Tammy, Andy and a small group of survivors. But they’re running out of places to hide, and the zombies are as hungry as ever for their flesh.
28 Weeks Later is streaming on Hulu.
‘Georgia Rule’ (2007)
Lindsay Lohan and Jane Fonda headline Georgia Rule as Rachel Wilcox and her grandmother, Georgia Randall. Rachel, it seems, is quite a handful for her mother, Lily (Felicity Huffman). Nothing Lily does can get Rachel to curb her promiscuity, her drug abuse or her heavy drinking. So she ships her daughter back to her grandmother’s home in Idaho.
Rachel has an immediate culture clash with her grandmother, and she doesn’t really want to change her ways. She also inadvertently reveals a family secret that’s so shocking it may shatter their fragile bond. That leaves Rachel in an emotionally perilous place where she can either lie to keep her family together or tell the truth and hurt one of the few people she actually loves.
Georgia Rule is streaming on Hulu.
‘The Cleaning Lady’ (2022 – Present)
Thony De La Rosa (Élodie Yung) is a little overqualified to be a cleaner in The Cleaning Lady. In her native country, the Philippines, she was a successful surgeon. The only reason Thony came to the U.S. is because her son, Luca (Sebastien and Valentino LaSalle), is deathly ill and needs treatment that can only be provided in Las Vegas. But without legal status, one of the only jobs Thony could get was work as a cleaner.
Those are the skills that saved Thony’s life when she witnessed a mob execution. She successfully bartered for her safety in exchange for cleaning up the murder scene. Thony was subsequently offered a position to do that full-time for the mob in addition to acting as a private doctor for criminals. That was an offer that Thony literally couldn’t refuse if she wanted to keep on living. All four seasons of The Cleaning Lady are currently streaming.
