Ana de Armas is grateful that Tom Cruise is supportive of her career amid continued dating speculation.
“You know what, he supports every movie. He really wants the industry and cinema to do well and [wants] people going to the theaters,” de Armas, 37, told Variety at the Tuesday, June 3, premiere of From the World of John Wick: Ballerina. “We’re working together, so he got to see Ballerina, and he actually really liked it. He loved the John Wick [franchise.]”
She added, “It is very special that someone like him is supporting [Ballerina.] It is really special, in general, to have other actors and people supporting each other. We can do well all together.”
The actress currently stars in Ballerina, a spinoff of Keanu Reeves’ popular John Wick action movie series.

Cruise, 62, even briefly reviewed the film during a May premiere for his latest Mission Impossible project.
“I saw the movie, which kicks a**,” Cruise quipped to reporters. “Oh, man, it’s right in that tone. It’s right in that big world, and you’re gonna love it.”
Cruise and de Armas have recently been spotted out and about together, sparking romance rumors.
“It’s low-key, still new and in the early stages,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly last month. “Their romance is definitely on the down low.”
The insider further told Us that Cruise and de Armas met through mutual friends, including Penélope Cruz.

“Penélope put in a good word for her both personally and professionally,” the source said.
Cruise previously dated Cruz, 51, for three years after meeting on the set of 2001’s Vanilla Sky. The insider added to Us that the now-exes remained friendly after their 2004 breakup. Cruz, who is now married to Javier Bardem, later starred with de Armas in 2019’s Wasp Network.
The insider also noted that Cruise and de Armas met about a potential work project before any romantic feelings developed.
“They’ve gone out on some dates and it’s very low-key,” the source added. “It’s in the early stages, and he’s been courting her. … She isn’t looking for anything to move too fast, she’s taking it really slow.”
Neither Cruise nor de Armas has publicly addressed their relationship status, though the Blonde actress did hint that it was “so much fun” being around the action star.
“It’s so much fun, and we’re definitely working on a lot of things,” de Armas said on Good Morning America earlier in May. “Not just one, but a few projects with Doug Liman and Christopher McQuarrie and, of course, Tom. I’m so excited.”
Cruise is set to star in Liman’s currently untitled SpaceX movie that they are cowriting with McQuarrie, 56. As of publication, de Armas is not officially attached to the anticipated film.
