Sean “Diddy” Combs was allegedly planning a social media campaign amid his legal woes.
On Tuesday, June 3, the prosecution claimed that “the government is considering admitting” certain jail tapes from last fall after the defense’s long slew of social media presentations during the cross-examination of his ex-assistant “Mia.” According to the prosecution, that footage allegedly shows Diddy, 55, “planning a social media campaign around his birthday” as a marketing opportunity to “change the narrative” surrounding his arrest.
While the prosecution did not initially plan on submitting this footage for evidence, the government’s attorneys changed their minds after the repeated mentions of social media during Mia’s cross-examination on Monday, June 2. Mia, who testified under a pseudonym, was questioned by defense attorney Brian Steel about why she never recorded any footage of Diddy allegedly harassing her when she was posting so much for his company on social media.
“That would’ve been a huge breach of trust, loyalty and confidentiality,” she explained, claiming that she didn’t have time to write down her allegations about working with him. After Steel asked whether she was lying about what happened with Diddy, Mia replied, “I have never lied in this courtroom, and I will never lie in this courtroom. Everything I have said is true.”

When asked again about why she waited to share her side of the story, Mia claimed it was because she was “terrified” and was “brainwashed.”
Diddy’s trial began in New York City on May 5 after his September 2024 arrest on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution. He pleaded not guilty to all charges and has denied all of the allegations against him.
“We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office,” Diddy’s attorney Marc Agnifilo said in a statement at the time. “He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal. To his credit Mr. Combs has been nothing but cooperative with this investigation and he voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”
Diddy has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since his arrest. His four requests for bail were denied by Judge Arun Subramanian.
