We, as a nation, should be showing the judicial system our gratitude every day for being the only branch of our government with the courage to stand up for the rule of law and the Constitution. The MAGA-led House of Representatives seems to quaver before President Donald Trump and his minions. The Senate largely does the same. They control the second branch of our country’s leadership, and, unlike any administration in our history, I think they have abandoned their oath of office to stand behind our executive branch, which I think is out of control. They are the reason that Trump has not already been impeached and removed from office. They are the reason that our democracy is struggling to survive.
In response to this assault on our nation, the Democrats in the House and Senate are doing too little, except ask for money.
In order to support our judiciary, we need to demand that they are offered the protection they need to survive the threats coming from Trump and his base. If we do not do so, we are abandoning the most honorable component of our deteriorating democracy. I fear that abandonment will sound the death knell for our way of life, our freedom, and the rule of law in the United States.
If you want your legacy to be that you did all you could to preserve our democratic form of government for the generations to come, it’s time to demand that our legislators fulfill the requirements of their oath of office to protect it.
