An Aroostook County man was found Saturday morning after an all-night search by the Maine Warden Service and the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office.
Bryce Clark, 71, of Merrill went out for an evening drive Friday night when his truck became stuck on an old woods road, according to Mark Latti, spokesperson for the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.
Clark called his daughter and told her he was stuck in the woods but not lost. When he didn’t return home, a search began around 8:45 p.m. Attempts to reach him by cell phone were unsuccessful.
Early Saturday, searchers finally made contact with Clark, who has several medical issues and was without his medication. He told searchers his approximate location, adding that he was very wet and not near his truck.
Searchers went to a wooded area near the wind towers in Oakfield and found him around 7:30 a.m. Rescue crews evaluated Clark, who was wet and hypothermic, but he declined to be taken to the hospital and was reunited with his family.
