A Poland man was seriously injured Thursday evening when he crashed his motorcycle into a tree.
Joseph Vallee, 23, was speeding on his 2008 Kawasaki Ninja north on Elmwood Road in Pownal about 7:43 p.m. when he tried to pass another driver on a blind corner over a hill, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.
Vallee lost control and then crashed into a tree, the sheriff’s office said Friday.
He was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where he was treated for critical injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
