A man has been charged after armed police swooped on a hospital over reports of someone carrying a crossbow inside.
Officers were called to Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital on Friday morning after a man reportedly entered the building carrying the ranged weapon.
Police Scotland have now confirmed that a 29-year-old man has been arrested and charged following the incident.
He is due to appear in court on Monday.

Specialist firearms officers were among those who attended the incident at the hospital, but police confirmed the weapon had not been fired and there were no injuries.
The atrium of the hospital was closed for a “short time” and traffic was temporarily diverted around the building, but a spokesperson for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde said there had been no disruption to services.
