Rosie O’Donnell surprised fans in May 2025 by revealing a positive update on her weight loss journey — which she credited to using the medication Mounjaro.
The injectable drug (also known as tirzepatide) is similar to Ozempic and Wegovy in that it is used primarily to treat diabetes, but can also be effective in weight loss. According to WebMD, Mounjaro can be classified similarly to Wegovy or Ozempic because all three all contain GLP-1, which assists in weight loss. Side effects can include nausea and diarrhea.
In O’Donnell’s case, she said that she started using Mounjaro to treat her diabetes and her weight loss came as a bonus. Other celebrities have also opened up about losing weight while using Mounjaro — including Mob Wives star Renee Graziano, The View’s Whoopi Goldberg, and Amy Schumer.

Rosie O’Donnell
The former Rosie O’Donnell Show host proudly showed off her recent weight loss via Instagram in May 2025 and directly attributed her positive health news to using the weight loss medication.
In a message captioned with the hashtag “Mounjaro,” she wrote, “I cant believe this is me now.”
O’Donnell first announced to her TikTok followers in March 2025 that she was having success with the medication after her recent move from the U.S. to Ireland.
“I’ve lost more weight,” she announced. “I am on Mounjaro for my diabetes and one of the side effects is you lose weight. But it’s also because I had a chef for over two years in Los Angeles and I don’t have a chef now. It’s me cooking for [my child] Clay and me.”
She went on, “I’m one of those people who always had a weight issue and now that I’m a size large — instead of an XL or a XXL — I find it shocking. I really do. I find it completely shocking.”
Whoopi Goldberg
During a May 2024 appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, the View moderator said Mounjaro helped her lose the weight of “almost two people.”
“I’m doing that wonderful little shot that works for folks who need some help and it’s been really good for me,” Goldberg reported to host Kelly Clarkson.
Goldberg reflected on the creeping effect that weight gain can have, saying, “You’re living your life and you’re doing what you need to do — and that’s the last thing you’re thinking about because you’ve got other stuff on your mind. When you realize it, you go, ‘Well, damn.’ And everyone says, ‘Well, I thought you knew.’”
Amy Schumer
The comedian shared with her Instagram followers in March 2024 that she was doing well on Mounjaro after having a less positive experience on Wegovy years earlier.
“Three years ago, I tried Wegovy. I was puking, I couldn’t handle it. I don’t know if they’ve changed the formula, whatever,” she said via Instagram. “But anyway, I went on this Telehealth meeting with [virtual clinic] Midi Health, and it was cheap. I wanted to try it myself ‘cause I wanted to recommend it to my friends who are nurses and teachers.”
Schumer explained that, in addition to her use of the weight loss medication, her clinicians put her on “estrogen and progesterone” because she was perimenopausal.

“My hair is fuller, my skin is better, I have more energy, I want to get down more, if you know what I mean. I’m talking about sex,” she joked. “So that’s been great and Mounjaro’s been great.”
She also noted, “And, look, it’s not covered by insurance unless you have diabetes or like severe obesity, which most of the internet thinks I have. But I’m having a really good experience with it and I wanted to keep it real with you about that.”
Meghan Trainor and Daryl Sabara
The “Woman Up” singer revealed on her “Workin’ On It” podcast in April 2025 that both she and husband Sabara started taking Mounjaro after welcoming son Riley in 2021. Trainor said that they went with Mounjaro over other weight-loss medications because they were told it “had less side effects”.
“I also gained some [sympathy] pregnancy weight,” Sabara explained. “We’ve been on this journey for a while and we learned how there are right ways to do it.”
Trainor insisted she felt “no shame” about using weight-loss injections, though she stressed that the couple simultaneously focused on portion control.

“I’ve learned so much about portions,” Trainor noted. “I’m like, ‘Remember how big your stomach is.’ I don’t want to bug [Sabara] and I always do. He’s like, ‘Are you fat-shaming me?’ I’m like, ‘No, babe, I’m looking out for you.’ Our eyes are hungrier than our stomachs. I blame where we live [because] the portion sizes are ridiculous.”
She added, “I learned all these little tricks that changed my life. I literally bought smaller plates ‘cause I’m like, ‘No, you can’t put too much rice on there.’ … I’m obsessed now with the science of when I work out and build muscle, you have to eat protein or else it’s not going to do anything.”
Scott Disick
In February 2025, Disick candidly discussed his weight loss, and his use of Mounjaro, during an episode of The Kardashians. Khloé Kardashian asked Disick directly to clear up rumors after fans questioned whether there was a weight loss drug in his fridge during one scene.
“It shows the Mounjaro? You’re lying!” he declared. “Oh, f*** me running. By the way, I am not embarrassed that I took it! Everyone that has a problem with Mounjaro can suck my d***. And by the way, they can see it now because for a minute, you couldn’t!”
Disick explained that it was “tough living that large,” with Kardashian soon coming to his defense over using a weight loss medication.
“You shouldn’t be [embarrassed]! When I was fat, I would have drank that s***,” she said. “I don’t get the shame in it. You don’t get it because you don’t have these problems but when I was thicker, I took laxatives. I would take anything that anyone was pushing.”
Renee Graziano
The former VH1 reality star credited her 52-pound weight loss, in part, to using Mounjaro after years of struggling with dieting. She mentioned that she’d also started using the “right supplements,” in addition to “doing all the work behind [her] insecurity.”
“I’ve battled self-criticism in the past! Ripped myself down to the ground!!” Graziano recalled in May 2025. “I truly was so sick and tired of my life and my inability to lose weight so I thought I’d eat until I felt better THAT NEVER HAPPENED, I felt like I was constantly falling short—of how I ‘should’ look, feel, and keep up with what society tells us is acceptable.”
She continued, “That’s why, when I see photos that show the real, visible change, my clear eyes and genuine smile, I have to share. I want everyone to know if I can do it, you can do it! It’s all possible!!”
